Art Heritage Presentation
For whom?
Cultural institutions that focus on presenting cultural heritage and/or visual art. Think of museums, art centres and venues , archives engaged in public presentation, and other art and heritage initiatives that focus on presenting cultural heritage and/or visual arts.
The Mondriaan Fund offers Art Heritage Presentation grants to stimulates remarkable presentations at institutions in the field of visual art and/or cultural heritage.
For what?
For presentations that transcend the ordinary, engage the public in an appealing way, and are contextually relevant to contemporary visual art and/or cultural heritage in the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
The plan should clearly demonstrate that the presentation is non-standard. Examples include a distinctive presentation featuring work by internationally renowned artists; an engaging exhibition that highlights new perspectives; a presentation developed in an exemplary way through co-creation with the public; or a presentation with special loans and/or newly commissioned work within a compelling exhibition concept. Other exploratory, innovative or ambitious art or heritage presentations may likewise be eligible.
Applications will only be eligible for funding if the assessment criterion ‘non-standard presentation’ is assessed as at least satisfactory.
How much?
The amount of the contribution is determined per application and is a maximum of 40% of the variable project costs. The minimum budget of the project must be higher than € 25,000 and must not contain any fixed costs. Contributions of € 100,000 or more are very exceptional. Please contact the Mondriaan Fund if you would like to request a contribution of such magnitude.
How and when to apply?
Applications can be submitted at any time of the year using the Mondriaan Fund online application system. You must first set up an account on the website before you can apply. Once your application is complete, please allow for a processing period of 3 months from the moment your application is submitted in full. Grants cannot be awarded retroactively.
