Reading Promotion

For whom?

Non-profit organisations (legal entities) that produce and organise reading promotion or literature education activities. Applications may not be submitted by publishers, schools, universities, municipalities and self-employed individuals

For what?

We are primarily looking for projects that complement existing activities, for example because they involve an innovative concept, are digitally innovative, encourage new collaborations, serve a new region or reach an underexposed target group.

We interpret the concept of reading promotion broadly. Projects may relate to reading or listening, to readers themselves or to intermediaries, and also to the combination of original Dutch and literature translated into Dutch. The latter also applies to projects in Frisian, Papiamento, Papiamentu and Dutch Sign Language. These projects may cover both existing literature and participants’ own stories. After all, reading and writing go hand in hand. The involvement of writers or translators in the project is an advantage.

How much?

A minimum of €15,000 and a maximum of €100,000.
