Project Grants for Literary Projects and Educational Projects in Literature

For who?

Dutch organisations – whether independent or in cooperation with foreign partners – are eligible if they are legal entities with full legal capacity at the time of application. Universities, schools, libraries and publishers cannot apply for grants. Organisations that have already received a multi-year grant (four– or two-year) from the Dutch Foundation for Literature are not eligible for this scheme. Organisations that have previously received a multi-year grant for their activities from one of the public cultural funds or through the Basic Infrastructure (BIS) are also excluded from this scheme.

For what?

This scheme allows organisations to apply for grants for public literary activities and for initiatives that promote reading literature at school and during extracurricular activities. We give priority to literary events and activities that take place outside the of the Randstad regions, for public activities related to literature or for encouraging reading literature both at school and during extracurricular activities. Grant applications are also welcomed for projects and activities in which Dutch and international literature interact, as well as for interdisciplinary projects and collaborations with social institutions. Literary activities or events must be completed within one year of the award of the grant.

How much?

Applications can be made for grants of between €7,500 and €40,000.

How and when to apply?

Applications can be made through the Foundation for Literature website from 2 January 2025 to 27 January 2025.
