For whom?
The Production Subsidy is aimed at organisations whose primary purpose is to develop, perform or re-enact professional performances, concerts or competitions. The organisation must have produced at least two professional productions or the creators must have been active as professional performing artists for at least two years.
For what?
The purpose of the grant is to promote the quality of the performing arts and to reach audiences to this end. The grant can be used to finance activities in both the preparatory and implementation phases. This might include fees for artistic and business staff, or rehearsal time with production and technical staff and performers. Furthermore, publicity, marketing and premiere costs can also be included in your budget.
How much?
It is possible to apply for production grants up to a maximum of 78,750 euros. However, if you are applying for a production grant for more new compositions, librettos or theatrical texts an additional grant of up to 26,250 euros is available. The production must be completed by the end date specified. Projects should typically be completed within one to two years.
How and when to apply?
There are four application rounds a year. You can be awarded a grant in up to three rounds a year. The application round deadlines vary each year but take place around the beginning of each quarter. Applications for the Production Subsidy are made through My Fund. You need an ‘organisation’ account to do this. You must complete an application form and provide a budget according to our model (see: www.productiebegroting.nl) as well as a substantive project plan (in PDF format). This plan should describe the artistic and production plan and explain the budget. After submission, we will notify you whether or not your application will be considered for a grant. If your application is considered, you will receive a decision on your application in writing through My Fund within thirteen weeks.
