Emerging design practices ABCSSS

For who?  

Starting designers or makers who are established in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten.  

For what? 

The Open Call Emerging Design Practices ABCSSS is aimed at designers and makers who independently develop creative or artistic products and want to deepen and professionalise their emerging practice.  

How much?  

If you are selected after the pitch day, you will draw up your development plan together with the Fund. Based on this, you will receive a grant of € 25,000 to implement this plan.  

How and when to apply?  

Send an email before Monday April 7, 2025, 12:00 AST to emergingdesignpractices@stimuleringsfonds.nl with a motivation video or letter, your CV and portfolio. By April 17 at the latest, you will hear if you are invited to the pitch day, which will take place in Aruba in week 20 (exact date to follow). Ten makers will be invited. They will present their development question in 3 minutes. The jury will then ask questions and four makers will be selected.

The selected makers will write a development plan in collaboration with the Fund. Upon approval, you will receive a grant of € 25,000 to implement this plan over one year.  

Good to know

• To prepare for your application, you can take part in one of the online consultation hours. During these sessions, more information will be provided about the application procedure and you will receive advice for pitching your plans. You can find more information about these sessions on the Creative Industries Fund NL website. 
• The pitch day takes place annually on one of the islands. Participants who do not live on the island in question will receive compensation for travel and accommodation.
