Dutch Foundation for Literature

For (starting) professional literary creators and organisations based in the Caribbean. This grant is for the creation of books (novels, poetry collections, graphic novels, picture books), for translations, for literary work on stage such as spoken word, digital (podcast, audio-visual), literary talent development programmes and literary activities.

For literary creators who have created at least 1 project or literary work with a professional producer. This grant can be used for the writing and project costs of spoken word, storytelling, digital literary work (podcast, video).

For non-profit organisations that produce and carry out activities promoting reading and literary education. This grant is for innovative projects that promote the enjoyment of reading, encourage reading/listening to literature, and for projects that involve participants writing or performing on their own.

The Starter Grant is for literary translators who have signed their first translation contract with a publisher (called GAU Model Contract). The Development Grant is for translators who have already received at least 1 (Starter) Translation Grant and wish to further develop as a professional literary translator.

This scheme allows organisations to apply for grants for public literary activities and for initiatives that promote reading literature at school and during extracurricular activities.
