Short-term Tour Funding
For whom?
Short-term Tour Funding is intended for companies, pop groups, ensembles, big bands, singer-songwriters, performers, performing composers or DJs who give performances or concerts in places outside the entire Kingdom (see note under ‘Good to know’). It is also intended for composers, playwrights, librettists or choreographers who have been invited to attend a performance of their own work, played by others, outside the entire Kingdom. In this case, the composer, playwright, librettist or choreographer will not be participating in the performance or concert themselves.
For what?
The grant is a contribution towards travel, transportation and visa costs to make these trips possible. It does not cover accommodation costs.
How much?
A grant for giving performances or concerts outside the entire Kingdom never exceeds the total of reasonably necessary travel, transportation and visa costs with a maximum of 6,000 euros within Europe and 10,000 euros outside Europe. Hotel costs and accommodation are not covered.
For travel from Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten there is a maximum contribution of 6,000 euros for travel to a country within Latin America and a maximum contribution of 10,000 euros for travel beyond it.
Grants to attend one or more performances or concerts outside the entire Kingdom shall never exceed the total of the reasonably necessary travel, transportation and visa costs of the composer, playwright, librettist or choreographer concerned up to a maximum of 3,000 euros.
How and when to apply?
You can apply for this grant throughout the year, for as long as the Fund has sufficient budget. Apply through My Fund for concerts/performances to be performed outside the entire Kingdom. You need an ‘organisation’ account to do this. To attend concerts/performances as a composer, playwright, etc., you need an ‘individual’ account. Grant applications can be made no earlier than four months before the first performance and no later than one month after the first performance outside the entire Kingdom.
Here you will find more information about submitting an application to the Perfoming Arts Fund NL.
Good to know:
- Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, Saba, Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. As a result, you cannot use this grant for travel expenses for travel between any of the islands and the European Netherlands. The Fund intends to amend this grant scheme in order to allow such trips. This change will take effect during the 2025 calendar year.
- The minimum number of performances an applicant must have performed in the recent past (at least 10 in the past 18 months) will also be amended in 2025. We want this to take into account other types of performance practices on Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, Saba, Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire.
More information about the conditions, assessment criteria and the information needed to process your application can be found via the button below on the Performing Arts Fund NL website. This information is available in Dutch.
