How to submit an application to the Cultural Participation Fund
Applications
Grant applications to the Cultural Participation Fund must be made in the ‘My Fund‘ environment. Is this your first grant application? Then begin by creating an account (this takes up to 5 business days). Once your account is activated, you will be able to see which schemes are open on the ‘Apply for Grants’ page in ‘My Fund’.
You should then click on the scheme that applies to your project and begin your application. Grant applications do not have to be completed all at once. ‘My Fund’ saves your application in progress.
When you are ready, submit your application digitally. You will receive an instant confirmation by email. This means that we your application has been properly received. Next, our grant advisors review your application. Your application will be processed providing it has been completed in full and meets the conditions.
- For schemes open to applications on an ongoing basis, we aim to let you know whether your application is up for consideration within 14 days.
- For schemes with a single submission deadline, we aim to let you know whether your application is up for consideration within the 14 days following the deadline.
Please note: applications are nearly always processed in order in which they are received. We may therefore exhaust our budget before all applications can be assessed. In this case, any further applications will be rejected without assessment. So please make sure you submit your application in a timely manner. Do not wait until the closing date of the scheme.
Review
Your application will be reviewed for content.
- Applications up to a value of €25,000 are almost always assessed by the Fund’s internal advisers.
- For applications in excess of €25,000, the Fund will engage an advisory committee. This includes specialists from various disciplines within the cultural participation and cultural education sector.
Our internal advisers or the advisory committee will assess whether your application meets the criteria of the scheme. They will proceed to advise the board of the Dutch Foundation for Literature on whether or not your application should be approved.
Decision
In most cases, you will be notified within 13 weeks of whether your application has been approved. You will find the response time per scheme on the website.
If you are successful, we will send you decision letter containing the amount awarded and information on next steps. Unfortunately, we also have to reject some applications. We will provide you with reasons in the decision letter.
If your project is accepted, you will be notified through My Fund. This is called a grant decision. This contains all information relevant to the accountability of your project. This information serves as a guide.
